Dr. Thushan DeSilva is a Board Certified dermatologist with over 20 years of experience. He is from Pittsburgh and remains a die-hard Steelers fan. Dr. DeSilva earned his undergraduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He started DeSilva Dermatology in Boerne in January of 2017.
Dr. DeSilva has a passion for teaching and has volunteered as a clinical instructor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is also a leader in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis education and speaks for numerous companies with cutting edge technology. Dr. DeSilva is a certified Allergan injector trainer for Botox and Juvederm fillers.
Outside of medicine, Dr. DeSilva enjoys running, skiing and spending time with his wife and three children.
Dr. Holly Volz, a San Antonio native, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Baylor University and a proud Baylor Bear. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she achieved membership in AOA Honor Medical Society. Dr. Volz is a Board Certified dermatologist, and she specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Volz has a strong background in medical education, and she continues to participate in resident education as a clinical appointed faculty member at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Volz has a special interest in skin cancer and prioritizes community service. She has participated in free skin cancer screening events for local residents since 2013.
In her free time, Dr. Volz enjoys cooking, baking, spending time outdoors (with proper SPF and a wide-brimmed hat) and traveling with her husband and three children.
Danusha, wife of Dr. Thushan DeSilva, was excited to transition back to work in 2017 from being a stay at home mom for 13 years to their three children. She has enjoyed overseeing the renovation of their permanent location in Boerne. In addition, she assists in various capacities but mainly helps coordinate marketing and promotion efforts for the practice. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a communications manager for a non-profit trade association in Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of the The University of Texas, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. Danusha enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and working out.

Jill has worked in Dermatology for over 20 years. She started as a receptionist in 1998 and received her Certified Medical Assistant Certificate in 1999. Jill and Dr. DeSilva have been working together since 2000. She is the lifeline of our office and wears multiple hats as our Head MA and Office Manager. She keeps our office running smoothly and brings a smile to our staff and patients daily. Jill enjoys the friendships she builds with our patients and loves that our practice is dedicated to educating patients on maintaining healthy skin. When not at work, Jill enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids as well as doing arts and crafts, boating and fishing.
Jennifer has been with DeSilva Dermatology since the practice opened. She works multiple tasks to help the front office run smoothly. Before working here, she was in telecommunications for 10 years and was a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters for 10 years. While raising her girls she volunteered in various capacities including being PTA President at their school. Her favorite thing about working here is meeting our patients and making sure they have a good experience from check-in to check-out. When she is not at work, she loves spending time with her husband, daughters, family, friends and animals.
Darlene is our Billing Representative. She has 30 years of medical experience, with 25 of those in billing. She has done billing for pediatrics, multiple physicians, clinics, ambulance services and dermatology, for which she has been billing for the last 17 years. She enjoys working in a single practice as opposed to a multi-practice office as this allows her to get to know patients more on a personal level. In her spare time she enjoys diy projects, riding her Harley and spending time with family — especially her three adorable grandchildren.
Sonya is a Florida native and former military spouse. In the span of 23 years, she has lived in nine different states and enjoyed one overseas assignment. Over the years, in addition to serving on the Air Force Officers Spouses Club boards, she has worked for various physician’s offices. She enjoys interacting with the patients and gets satisfaction from helping others. In her free time, Sonya enjoys shopping, traveling here in the United States and abroad as well as spending time with her husband and five kids.
